Two more people are now in custody related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.
A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, authorities confirmed.
The arrests come after a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.
A three-year-old girl was one of the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later released.
Police arrested a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault close to the scene. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.
Police were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of people hurt by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.
The attack - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
