The legal representative, presenting evidence, detailed Ruben's offending to the judicial body.

She explained his those affected were disadvantaged youngsters who were participating in a summer program which he ran.

Ruben engaged in a "candy game" with the children, Mrs Prior said, in which he would go into the boys' rooms when they were settling down and ask them to ingest treats "as quickly as they can".

She stated to the judge Ruben had conducted this practice with the boys "repeatedly", and youngsters had earlier experienced illness the next day.

She stated the defendant had been capable of justifying this for many years as the children being "overwrought by enjoyment", until his stepson had worries in summer 2025.

The legal representative stated further: "In the summer" his family member had worries about the activities, with valid cause.

"They chose" to have a look in the individual's items."

Mrs Prior KC explained materials including infant oil, Vaseline and syringes were found, and his family member contacted the law enforcement about his worries.

She said the defendant went on to conduct the "sweet game" with six youngsters that evening - that Saturday - and they were all sick the next day.

"Law enforcement" had not gone out by that point," she continued.

The regulatory agency, the police conduct office, previously told that it was examining Leicestershire Police's handling of the events.

The prosecutor explained the minors were unable to walk properly due to their condition, so the stepson notified the authorities once more.

She explained Ruben then played the "treat game" in a space of five minors.
