La Petite Maison's Drink – How to Make It

We present a home-style interpretation of a drink featured on a new drinks list. This is a party-sized pre-mixed that is packed full of tastes of a Christmas time, making it perfect for hosting a celebration. Save the extra citrus syrup for morning drinks, puddings, or to mix another batch of this cocktail.

The Bikini Cocktail

Yields 10 guests

To make the Clementine Cordial (produces 750ml)

300ml newly squeezed clementine juice
200ml newly squeezed lemon juice
500g fine sugar

For the Premix (makes 850ml, serving 10)

400ml good quality vodka
100ml classic gin
150ml peach schnapps
200ml clementine cordial (as made above)
Fresh cranberries, to garnish
Mandarin essential oil, as a final touch

Directions

Making the Syrup: Place all the ingredients in a saucepan, bring to a light boil, agitating until the sugar dissolves. Then, turn off the heat and leave to reach room temperature completely. Pour into a clean bottle, cap it and refrigerate it chilled, it will last for around a month.

Preparing the Batch Mix: Mix all the spirits and syrup into one big jug, let it rest for an hour, then filter it preferably using muslin, to ensure it's fully clarified.

For serving: Measure 85ml of your batch mix into your cocktail shaker packed with ice, gently stirring carefully for about 60 seconds to cool it down. Pour into a cold coupe glass or a similar vessel, decorate with the cranberries and finish using a brief mist of the essential oil over the top.
